Guidelines
Your presentation will be a chalk talk be focused on a single topic covering results from around 1-2 papers. While you of course will need to draw background material from additional sources as necessary, be sure to focus on the essential concepts you need to convey the key results from your papers.
The presentation format should be entirely on the blackboard, with the exception of figures, which should be given as a handout. Powerpoint is NOT allowed. In general, your presentation should not be directly related to your work. However, it can be tangentially related.
The presentation should be roughly 40-50 minutes with room for questions. Try not to go over 60 minutes, as people often have time constraints. The goal of the presentation is to try and condense your papers into a single short presentation, and as such you should present the key ideas from your topic focusing on conceptual understanding. Tailor your presentations towards early graduate students (1st-2nd years).
